3rd Annual Lighted Halloween Parade

Trick-or-treating 7:00 PM, parade 8:00 PM · Main Street and the Plaza Market, downtown Ione

A free night of family fun in downtown Ione, presented by the Ione Business & Community Association. 7:00 PM: Trick-or-treating at local businesses on Main Street and at the Plaza Market. 8:00 PM: The Lighted Halloween Parade on Main Street. Dolly’s Rhinestone Run

Time onlies 4:30–6:00 PM, race 6:00 PM · Ed Hughes Memorial Arena, 600 S. Church St, Ione

CE Barrel Racing Association’s Dolly Parton tribute race. Dress code is sparkles and bright colors for Dolly! Time onlies: 4:30–6:00 PM, $5 cash at the gate or Venmo @Cianna-Cheatham Race starts: 6:00 PM All entries are done on Saddlebook. Pre-entries close at 8:00 PM the day before the race; you can enter until 5:30 PM race day. Entry fees Peewee/Leadline (limited to 15): $25 Exhibitions: $10 Futurity: $40, $100 added 5D Open: $45, $500 added Youth: $40, $100 added Novice: $35, $50 added. Horses may not run faster than a 19.5 on their pattern (not standard) or have more than $500 in LTE. If you enter Novice you can’t enter Open. Poles: $30, $50 added Outlaw Prime Open: $5 Office fee: $5 per person “Biggest Hair” side pot: whoever has the blondest, biggest, best hair or wig wins the whole pot! All time-only money and 10% of the 30% producer payout will be donated to Dolly’s Imagination Library. All classes are separate, but Futurity, Open, Youth and Novice run as one large combined class after Peewee and Exhibitions. Check the combined draw, not each class. Ione Rotary Oktoberfest

The Ione Rotary Club presents Oktoberfest at Evalynn Bishop Hall. Doors open at 5:00 PM, dinner at 6:30 PM. A traditional Oktoberfest meal prepared by Chef Andy's Cross Over Kitchen: Schnitzel with hunter sauce (mushroom and bacon gravy) Bratwurst with German curry sauce or sweet mustard Red cabbage Spaetzle Pretzel bites Sauerkraut Bavarian potato salad Live music by Capricious Accordion with Joe Domitrowich. The Haunt at Preston Castle

CE Barrel Racing Association celebrates Cianna’s 29th birthday with a 6D race at the Ed Hughes Memorial Arena. Schedule Gates open: 8:30 AM Time onlies: 9:30–11:30 AM Race starts: 12:00 PM The Mom’s Race and Men’s Race follow the combined draw, with awards after the race. Classes Open 6D Youth 6D Mom’s Race Men’s Race Awards to 3rd place in each D for Open 6D and Youth 6D: buckles for 1st, Myra bags for 2nd, halters for 3rd. The Mom’s Race and Men’s Race are for anyone who has never entered a race before. A buckle goes to first place in each.

9/11 Memorial and Remembrance Service

The City of Ione Fire Department invite you to the 25th Anniversary Memorial and Remembrance Service taking place on Friday, September 11th at 8 a.m. The Honor Guards from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as the Honor Guard of the City of Ione Fire Department will kick-off the short service, followed by the sounding of the Emergency horn and ringing of the bell for those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Never forget!
