The Ione Picnic Association organizes Ione Homecoming each May at Howard Park, a tradition that has brought friends, families and alumni back to town since 1876: team roping, rodeo events, a salsa and chili cook-off, live music, lawnmower races and more. The 150th Homecoming was held May 8–9, 2026. New volunteers are welcome. Email for the monthly meeting details.
